The Lift Boy Movie Review: This Slice-Of-Life Emotion Film Will Remain With You

Director: Jonathan Augustin Cast: Moin Khan, Nyla Masood, Saagar Kale, Neha Bam, and others Ratings: 4 stars They say dreams keep everyone alive and to have one gives a reason to live even more beautifully. Writer-director Jonathan Augustin bring an emotional tale of unusual relationships with The Lift Boy, which has a big  share of sweet moments, even though it could have been about five minutes shorter in the first half, which is working under the radar to establish the emotional tapestry of behaviour and relationships Raju Tawade (debutant Moin Khan), a lower-middle-class, English-speaking Maharashtrian boy, lives with parents Krishna Tawade (Saagar Kale) and Lakshmi (Neha Bam). Aspires to become a writer, but  is forced to become an engineer to fulfil his parents’ wish. His life  suddenly turns  upside down when he has to serve in  his father’s job as a lift boy in a posh building after his Baba suffers a heart attack. There, he meets Maureen D’souza (Nyla Masood)a rich widow who owns the posh building and stays alone in a sprawling apartment after her husband Colin’s death. Gradually, Raju befriends her along with other residents. To his surprise, Maureen promises him to teach engineering drawing, which has been the one single subject he has repeatedly failed to clear. As he works hard for the first time to study under her guidance, Fate, through a  friend tempt him with other options. What happens next forms the resolution that the first half had been  scripting the setup for. The Lift Boy is loosely based on a real story set in Mumbai. Director Jonathan Augustin delivers an engaging tale that elevates your emotions and mood,  and  also leaves you teary-eyed the process. आंख खोलने वाला कड़वा सच दिखाती है फिल्म ‘द डार्क साइड ऑफ लाइफः मुंबई सिटी’ -अनिल बेदाग- बॉलीवुड में आजकल प्रयोगात्मक फिल्में बन रही हैं जिनमें झूठ का आवरण नहीं है बल्कि सच्चाई को पेश किया जा रहा है ताकि दर्शकों से फिल्म से सीधा जुड़ाव हो सके। डायरेक्टर तारिक खान की इसी सप्ताह रिलीज हुई फिल्म ‘द डार्क साइड ऑफ लाइफः मुंबई सिटी’ एक ऐसी ही कहानी है जो मुंबई जैसे बड़े शहरों में हो रही आत्महत्या की बढती घटनाओं पर आधारित है। फिल्म की खासियत यह है कि इसमें कई कहानियों और किरदारों को बहुत करीने से पिरोया गया है और इस खूबसूरती से पेश किया गया है कि दर्शक इस फिल्म से खुद को जुड़ा हुआ महसूस करें। फिल्म में अंत तक सस्पेंस और थ्रिल भी कायम रहता है लेकिन विडंबना यही है कि छोटा बैनर होने की वजह से ऐसी फिल्में दर्शकों की बड़ी संख्या तक नहीं पहुंच पातीं और निर्देशक का सार्थक प्रयास भी व्यर्थ हो जाता है। फिल्म की यूएसपी निर्देशक महेश भट्ट का अहम रोल है जिनके दमदार अभिनय ने यकीनन दर्शकों को चौंकाया है। इस फिल्म के बाद हो सकता है महेश भट्ट अभिनय को भी अपने कॅरियर का हिस्सा बना लें। फिल्म में केके मेनन ने भी प्रभावी अभिनय किया है। लक्ष्य प्रोडक्शन की यह फिल्म मुंबई महानगर और खास कर फिल्मी दुनिया में होने वाली आत्महत्या की घटनाओं पर आधारित एक सिनेमा है। मुम्बईकरों के लिए इसमें आंख खोलने वाला कड़वा सच दिखाया गया है जो बड़े शहरों के जीवन में होने वाले तनाव को दर्शाती है। मुंबई जैसे बड़े शहर में लोग इतनी भाग दौड़ भरी जिंदगी गुजार रहे हैं। हर आदमी तनाव और किसी न किसी परेशानी में का शिकार है और यही संघर्ष और मायूसी कभी कभी लोगों को आत्महत्या करने पर मजबूर कर देती है। इस फिल्म में इसी सच को बड़े प्रभावी ढंग से...

Gunness Director: Shiivam Tiwari Music: Parivesh Singh The Story Mauritian tycoon Vishal Shivratan (Shiivam Tiwari) is aiming for the top slot and joins hands with Omitino Zaprio (Rahul Dev). Vishal’s wife aditi (Kritika Mishra) is a doting wife. Aditi’s best friend Jenny (Sophia Singh) seduces Vishal. Vishal’s business thrives and he finally replaces Omtino as the top gun. But Vishal faces bankruptcy after being cheated. By now, Aditi has filed for a divorce. Vishal’s loyal secretary Sonal (Kriti Chaudhary) finally saves him. CRITICAL & TRADE ANALYSIS The film has been tailor made to showcase the talent out of Shivam Tiwari, both as an actor and also as director. Performancewise, Shivam Tiwari takes the cake. Next best is Rahul Dev. Kritika Mishra and Sophia Singh add the glamour appeal and are also good in their respective roles. Rajkumar Kanojia and Hemant Pandey are good. The rest are adequate. The film’s music is the biggest pluspoint. All songs have been tuned very well and also picturised with painstaking effort. The three best songs are ‘Elahi’, rendered by Palak Mucchal, filmed on Vishal and Aditi, second best being ‘Black Magic’, filmed on Aditya Narayan who also has taken part on the song, third being ‘Mehfooz’, rendered by Ankit Tiwari. The other two songs ‘Khaali Sa Hoon’ and ‘Madhoshiyaan’, are also very enjoyable. The director explores the natural beauty of Mauritius. Camerawork (Kamal Chaurasia, Arvind Singh) is outstanding. SURYA AUR MEHRUNISSA KA ADHURA MILAN Banner: Bajarang Balaji Films Production Producer: Gundappa Suresh Devkar Director: Raju Sansare Music: Anuradha-Akshay, M. Deepak THE STORY The film depicts the love story of Surya( Suryakant Devkar) and Mehrunisa( Riddhi Ghodke) who meet in unusual circumstances and fall in love . But the society does not allow their love to blossom. How the two lovers meet again and renunite is told in the climax. CRITICAL & TRADE ANALYSIS The film has been written well by Gundappa Suresh Devkar and also the dialogue are meaningful in many places.The songs are melodious and are the main stay of the film.The film has the ususal romance, conflicts of elders and the youth,comedy, action and a dose of horror too to please the masses more than the classes. Direction by Raju Sansare is good. Musically,( Anirudha-Akshay and M. Deepak) earpleasing although the songs haven’t been promoted well. Performancewise. Suryakant Devkar does very well. HYENA Released By Hyder Gola Of Aries Films – Films Review 

N.K.G. Productions’ HYENA (Hindi) is a rape and revenge story of a sexy model Nehaa (Priyanka Vishu) who lands up in a posh locality which also has a swimming pool. The film is a showcase of promoting Priyanka Vishu in a big way and it succeeds. The film’s plot is reminiscent of too many old films with the same theme and has been handled very well by director Sumit  Roy King. Most of the actors are from Telugu screen and the film’s Telugu version is expected to do very well. Performancewise, Priyanka Vishu tops and she reminds of Ramya Krishna in almost every frame and she acts very well too. Her bikini scenes and the swimming pool scenes are lengthy while her bathing scenes have been filmed to titillate the masses. The drama sould have been much better. The music is ordinary. The climax is as usual with Priyanka killing the four vilains in a dreadful manner. The villain who is killed with the lamp post, shoved from behind is the best killing scene of the film. Production and technical values are good. Camerawork( Veena C. Anand) is very good.  Editing is good. On the whole , a film for the masses to be enjoyed and will fetch some shares from the B and C centres. Opened on 20th January in over 50 cinemas of Mumbai territory with Alankar,Mumbai being the main theatre with four shows daily.   The film’s first look was held on 5th October at Aishwarya Hall, Oshiwara, Mumbai which was attended by leading media personnells, distributers and marketing consultants who appreciated it.
