His previous exhibitions were ‘Frozen in Times’, (Jehangir, 2023); ‘Every Picture has a Story’ (Niyta Art Gallery); and ‘Enduring Imprints’ (Nehru Centre). The ‘Moments’, as he titles the present exhibition, captures his creative moments, depicting a variety of subjects drawn from broad experiences resulting from travels to European museums, landscapes and other locations. This attempt at memorializing the monumental achievements of humanity, inscribed in stone, depicts human resolve in achieving the unachievable: the London Bridge and the skyscrapers, among others; at the same time, the melancholy and enigma of bondage and yearning for freedom are present in his photos of statues. Thus, Kabeer’s photo art offers sensitive explorations into the complex human condition: a deep yearning for freedom and unavoidable bondage.  Some of his works are presented in the black and white scheme: the Taj Mahal, the London Bridge, the dilapidated urban habitat, and the harsh conditions of life. This offers both an archaic presence and its fleeting, fading passage.  Kabeer is fascinated with the many shades and moods of the sky. February 17–23, 2025 “Home & Abroad” A Painting and a Thought An Exhibition of recent works by London based artist Dr. Mohan Luthra  VENUE: Jehangir Art Gallery 161-B, M.G. Road Kala Ghoda, Mumbai 400 001 Timing: 11am to 7pm Contact: +91 9910287876 Home & Abroad: Dr. Mohan Luthra’s Exhibition Explores Beauty and Truth Mumbai’s iconic Jehangir Art Gallery is currently hosting a compelling exhibition by London-based artist Dr. Mohan Luthra, titled Home & Abroad – A Painting and a Thought. The exhibition features 28 evocative landscapes and has been drawing a steady stream of visitors, including art enthusiasts, critics, and cultural figures, with nearly 100 attendees daily. The exhibition was inaugurated on 17th February 2025 by Mr. Kaiyoze Billimoria, a distinguished Mumbai citizen, who reflected on Dr. Luthra’s multifaceted career in the UK while maintaining a lifelong dedication to the arts. Speaking at the event, Billimoria noted, “Each painting here is not just a depiction of a place, but an exploration of how those places have shaped the artist’s thought and spirit.” He also emphasized Luthra’s deep connection to Indian landscapes, particularly through his recent work in shared studios in Goa and Reva Kancheta, along the banks of the Narmada River. The exhibition was also attended by Senior Advocate Rui Rodrigues, a board member of the YMCA committee, who was particularly drawn to the poetic depth woven into Luthra’s work. Home & Abroad showcases a diverse range of landscapes, from architectural panoramas to what the artist describes as “wastescapes.” Yet beyond their striking visual appeal, these works carry deeper narratives—questioning the realities behind idyllic settings through poetic reflections and self-exploration. Luthra’s approach challenges viewers to move beyond aesthetics and engage with the truths hidden beneath the surface. A notable aspect of the exhibition is its curation, subtly tracing the artist’s evolution from childhood to the present. Through this lens, Home & Abroad not only highlights Luthra’s artistic growth but also explores how his journeys—both physical and emotional—have shaped his perspective and creative voice. With Home & Abroad, Dr. Mohan Luthra once again demonstrates his ability to merge visual splendor...
