Dr.Shardool Mishra is currently Asst. Professor, Lalit Kala Sansthan, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra. He had his art education upto B.F.A. in fine arts in 2000 followed by M.F.A. in in fine arts in 2002 from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, U.P.  He was then awarded Ph. D. in drawing & painting from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra in 2008 after doing research. He participated in UGC sponsored refresher course in fine arts organised by Academic Staff College, DDU, Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur in 2013. He showcased his work in many solo and group art shows in leading art galleries at Agra, New Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur etc and abroad. He was an active participant in several workshops and art camps in various regions of our country. He was a recipient of many prizes / awards and appreciations from leading art promotional institutions at various cities and regions like Lalit Kala Academy, North Zone, New Delhi, Rotary Club, Meerut, International Indian Art Society, Allahabad, IIT, B.H.U. A Delhi based NGO, Joint Operation for Social Help-JOSH, is all geared up to hold its first ever Art Exhibition at, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai from 31st May to 6th June 2022  Titled, ‘Visual Realms of Life’, this exhibition aims to demonstrate how art, without losing any of its aesthetic qualities can also serve for the betterment of the society. In our routine lives we tend to forget about the challenges faced by youth especially children and girls from marginalised communities and their lack of access to any kind of welfare in today’s society. JOSH works through field interventions in the slums and resettlement colony of Trilokpuri in East Delhi, where it engages with marginalized urban poor youth and community members to work towards improving delivery of quality education and youth development. Several well known artists have come forward to exhibit their works in this event to contribute towards the grassroot programmes in areas of education, health and community development. Artists and celebs throng NGMA retrospective tribute to Rini Dhumal and her colourful Canvas of Life

Every artist dips his brush into his soul, and then emerges a masterpiece. This seems to be so true for artist Rini Dhumal.   The Power of Shakti: A Retrospective of Rini Dhumal  at the National Gallery of modern art speaks volumes for the artist and each of her works that reflect her strength and resilience  radiating in its  light. Rini Dhumal’s powerful works have always brought out the extraordinary  strength in the ordinary  Indian woman. Her works of art were strongly rooted in Indian culture at the same time, effortlessly embraced the influences of her foreign travels and their influence. Her studio situated on the first floor of her residence was recreated at NGMA besides the powerful ambience for the works, thanks to the efforts of  Adwaita Charan Garanayak, Director General, NGMA who has also curated the   exhibition. Rini Dhumal’s retrospective — Shakti is on view from Saturday, 21st May, 2022 onwards. The preview of the exhibition was graced by Brinda Miller, Nisha Jamwwal, Sudarshan Shetty, Pheroza Godrej, Vilas Shinde, Director General NGMA, Adwait Gadanayak, PD Dhumal, Radhika Dhumal, Shashi Bansal, Kalpana Gandhi, Vinod Sharma, Madhu Sharma, Sanjana Shelat, Jayanti Rabadia, Madhusudan, Jain Kamal, Kuldeep Koregaonkar among others. The exhibition is on view from Saturday, 21st May, 2022 onwards. Shakti was scheduled to open in December, 2020, but the COVID -19 pandemic wreaked havoc and thus, the show was postponed by a year.
