At : Triveni Kala Sangam New Delhi, India — 21st of December ,2025 The world will witness a historic cultural milestone with the celebration of the First Ever World Sarangi Day 2025, dedicated to the sacred memory of the legendary sarangi maestro Ustad Sabri Khan Sahab, one of India’s greatest exponents of the instrument and a towering figure in Indian classical music. Ustad Sabri Khan Sahab holds a unique place in the history of independent India. On the midnight of 15th August 1947, at the moment India attained freedom, he performed “Vande Mataram” on the sarangi, creating an eternal musical tribute to the birth of the nation. This extraordinary moment symbolized the soul of India resonating through the sarangi, making his contribution both artistic and historic. World Sarangi Day 2025 is being organized to honor his unparalleled legacy and to celebrate the sarangi as a global cultural instrument. The initiative is led by Ustad Kamal Sabri, internationally renowned sarangi maestro, President of Saurang Sangeet Society, and son of Ustad Sabri Khan Sahab. Carrying forward a 400-year-old Moradabad Gharana legacy, Ustad Kamal Sabri has dedicated his life to preserving, innovating, and globalizing the sarangi.
